Steven Kasamba

Steven Kasamba is a visionary Ugandan entrepreneur and arts advocate, based in the UK since 1997. As the founder and CEO of Bantu Arts UK and Bantu Arts Foundation Uganda, Steven has dedicated his life to promoting Ugandan cultural music, dance, and art, both locally and internationally.

Holding a degree in Dance, Drama, Theatre, and Performance Studies, Steven’s passion for the performing arts is evident in his ground-breaking work. In 2015, he made history by staging and producing the first Ugandan musical production, “Love, Goat in the Pearl…”, in the UK. This pioneering achievement paved the way for future collaborations between Ugandan and UK-based artists.

Steven’s commitment to cultural exchange and artistic expression led him to bring the “Adungu Tale Musical” from the UK to Uganda’s National Cultural Centre in 2024. This landmark production further strengthened artistic ties between the two nations and showcased the richness of Ugandan culture to a global audience.

A trailblazer in every sense, Steven was also the first Ugandan to organize and bring a group of professional cultural artists from Uganda to perform in the UK. This innovative initiative has opened doors for Ugandan artists to gain international recognition and has cemented Steven’s reputation as a champion of African arts.

With a firm belief in the transformative power of talent and culture, Steven continues to drive positive change through his work. His vision for a Ugandan cultural centre in the UK—a vibrant hub for African heritage, creativity, and community engagement—embodies his commitment to promoting cultural understanding and exchange.

Through his tireless efforts, Steven Kasamba has become a respected figure in the global arts community, inspiring a new generation of artists, entrepreneurs, and cultural leaders.
